Just as the land is special, it takes a special person to survive out here, let alone to become a part of the land. The people you come across are tough. They have to be to survive. But they are also the most honest, open, and friendly people the country has to offer. They are formed by the land, rather than forming the land around themselves. They depend on the environment, they know it, and it shows in their faces. While most city-bound people couldn't survive in the outback, these outback characters would have a lot of trouble surviving in the cities.
